SACRAL CHAKRA: If you want to emanate abundant love and passion

ROOT CHAKRA: If you want to stand grounded and be brave

First Chakra -- Root

It is located at the base of your spine and connects us to the Earth. It is where we receive vital nutrients and release toxins. The root chakra is the physical bond and the bond that keeps us in the present.

Imbalanced root chakra results in problems with legs, feet, rectum, tailbone, immune system, depression, and autoimmune deficiencies. Experts say that dandelion root tea can assist in the treatment of depression, gallbladder and high blood pressure. Root vegetables like carrots, potatoes, parsnips, radishes, onions and garlic soothe the root chakra.

Second Chakra -- Sacral

It is located below the navel -- between the ovaries in women, and near the prostate in men. Its primary qualities are creativity, attention and sensual expression. Any blockages in this Chakra lead to eating disorders, urinary tract problems, reproductive disorders, occasional headache, fever, and emotional imbalance.

Calendula is super-easy to grow, and will sure enhance your creativity in every aspect of your life. Gardenia is another herb that is highly beneficial for the sacral chakra. It is commonly called “the happiness herb.” When added to essential oils, its roots have multiple uses, and its flowers soothe the senses.

Sandalwood cures many infections, as it stimulates cell production and growth. Apply some sandalwood oil on your body before you take a shower, or use it as an aromatizer in your home. You can also use coriander, fennel, licorice, cinnamon, vanilla, carob, sweet paprika, sesame seeds, and caraway seeds.

Third Chakra -- Solar Plexus

This chakra is the power centre of emotions and positive self-control. When the third chakra is blocked, we feel unworthy and our self-esteem is pretty low.

Depression and anxiety are not the only problems -- you could also struggle with physical problems like indigestion, ulcer, diabetes, liver and kidney problems, anorexia, bulimia, intestinal tumor, etc.

Use lavender, bergamot and rosemary oil to unblock the energy flow of the solar plexus chakra. Bergamot stimulates the digestive system, and thus causes less strain to the intestine.

In the Mediterranean people use rosemary as an essential herb for the stomach health and intestines. Its leaves are added to different dishes, and rosemary oil is perfect for cooking. Marshmallow also relaxes this chakra, and eases our effort to control life. Use anise, celery, cinnamon, lily of the valey, ginger, mints (peppermint, spearmint, ets,), melissa, turmeric, cumin and fennel to balance the solar plexus chakra.

Fourth Chakra -- Heart

The fourth chakra is the centre of love, compassion and forgiveness in the body’s energy system. When the heart chakra is blocked we are unable to love ourselves and the others.

In the physical aspect, people usually suffer from poor circulation, in emotional level we lack empathy, and we lack devotion in the spiritual aspect. The fourth chakra is the centre of the issues of love, grief, hatred, anger, jealousy, fears of betrayal, loneliness, and the ability to heal ourselves and the others.

Hawthorn berries added to tea or tincture increase your trust in life and encourage ourself to follow our heart and feel safe doing it. In physical aspect, it strengthens heart and blood vessels. Use cayenne, jasmine, lavender, marjoram, rose, basil, sage, thyme, cilantro, parsley to improve the health of your heart.

Fifth Chakra -- Throat

Throat chakra controls our self-expression and communication. Its blockages result in thyroid problems and laryngitis when it comes to physical health, and codependency on emotional level. Unclear thoughts are common for the mental level, and insecurity for the spiritual level. It is held as responsible for nervousness, fear, and anxiety.

Red clover blossoms allow free flow of communication and self-expression. Scientists conducted a research at the University of Maryland, Medical Centre, and it showed that lemon balm can heal many ailments, including thyroid conditions. Eucaliptys oil is beneficial for decongestion. Soothe throat chakra using coltsfoot, peppermint, sage, salt, and lemon grass.

Sixth Chakra -- Third eye

“The third eye” is connected with the pineal gland and your intuition. When it is blocked, we lack in imagination and intuition, which results in poor decision making and self-deception. In physcal aspect, we struggle with eye/ear problems, headache, migraine, insomnia, and nightmares.

Use mint, jasmine and eyebright to open your sixth chakra. Eyebright helps you see the dark and light side as part of the whole, and it is often used in the treatment of eye problems. Mint cures depression, migraines, and memory loss. It strengthens the connection between mind and body. Energize and heal your imbalances using juniper, mugwort, poppy, rosemary, lavender, and poppy seed.

Seventh Chakra -- Crown

It connects us to the divine energy in the Universe. The seventh chakra is associated with our wisdom, enlightenment and transcendence. When it is closed we are spiritually disconnected.

In physical aspect, it leads to depression, nervous system disorders, migraines, amnesia, ADD, dyslexia, and more extreme conditions like cognitive delusions and mental illness.

Use lavender flower and lotus to open your seventh chakra. Lavender brings us into alignment with the divine wisdom on a daily basis. It is often used to enhance meditation. Chinese and Japanese add lotus leaves to their dishes, and each part of the lotus provides different benefits.
